They looked more like fugitives  than soldiers of the Grande Armée.

لقد بدوا مثل الهاربين أكثر من كونهم جنود الجيش الكبير.

And Theodosius had to surrender prominent Hunnic  fugitives, including two of royal descent,  

وكان على ثيودوسيوس أن يسلّم الهاربين البارزين الهونيين، وكان من بينهم اثنان من أصلٍ ملكي
