وبالتأكيد كان هناك جيش مصري ينتظرهم في الواحة،

there must have been an Egyptian force in the oasis,

لكن "المشير الحديدي" ، كما يُعرف الآن ، كان ينقذ رجاله لما كان يعرف أنه ينتظرهم.
