And the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him: To thy seed will I give this land. And he built there an altar to the Lord, who had appeared to him.

De allí pasó a la montaña, al oriente de Betel, y desplegó su tienda, entre Betel al occidente y Ay al oriente. Allí edificó un altar a Yahvé e invocó su nombre.
