Translation of "يَا" in English

يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، كَيْفَ يَأْتِيكَ الْوَحْيُ ؟

O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! How is the Divine Inspiration revealed to you?

يَا أَبَتَاهُ اغْفِرْ لَهُمْ لأَنَّهُمْ لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ مَاذَا يَفْعَلُونَ

Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.

يَا لَيْتَنِي فِيهَا جَذَعًا لَيْتَنِي أَكُونُ حَيًّا إِذْ يُخْرِجُكَ قَوْمُكَ.

I wish I were young and could live up to the time when your people would turn you out.

يَا مَعْشَرَ الرُّومِ هَلْ لَكُمْ فِي الْفَلَاحِ وَالرُّشْدِ وَأَنْ يَثْبُتَ مُلْكُكُمْ ؟

O Byzantines! do you want success, guidance and our empire to remain ?
