To finish off hip week here’s @jbetteridge22 hip and lower back regen circuit for those who want to treat their hip and lower back pain without having to go see a physical therapist.

Helping stretch your Hip Capsule will result in a better hip position combined with strength training, helping balance out mechanics and reduce pain and injury.

1. Posterior Hip Capsule Stretch – Place the leg on a slightly elevated position with the knee bent in an acute position. Bring the opposite knee and foot to the floor and you’ll feel a stretch at the back of the hip near the glutes. Keep the spine in neutral and lean forward until the stretch enhances – lean back to original position and repeat for 1 minute
2. Anterior Hip Capsule Stretch with Hamstring Activation – Place your rear foot on a slightly elevated position and ensure you place your front foot infront so we are feeling a slight stretch in the front of the hip of the rear leg. Squeeze the bum and lean forward. When the stretch is enhanced, try to lift the rear foot a little bit to activate the hamstrings.
3. Internal and External Hip Stretches – lie with your bum against the wall and keep back flat and in contact with the floor. Slowly slide your feet up for a hamstring stretch and back to neutral. Then move your knees in and out and feel the stretch and range of movement in the front and sides of the hips.
4. Glute Medius Ball ‘Release’ – Now, this won’t fix your hip or back but it will help dull down any pain which you’re feeling. Doing this in combination with the exercises and stretches will lead to a healthier hip!
